About Dovecote Cafe and Shop

Over the last seven years The Dovecote café has established a deserved reputation for the quality of its home made food. The extensive menu offers a seven-day a week choice offering all day breakfasts, home cooked lunches and teas and home made cakes. Regular special evenings include pie and curry nights.

Situated in the fertile Trent Valley all our food is sourced locally to ensure high quality and freshness. This combined with very competitive prices and a warm and friendly atmosphere make it an ideal venue for any family events. We also provide an economic, flexible and delicious range of buffets for parties, weddings, funerals etc in your own home or any local venue.

Children’s parties are a speciality, particularly riding parties, in conjunction with Grove House Stables, which shares the site.

Over the years we have welcomed walkers, cyclists, fishermen and art groups in addition to our loyal body of local supporters and horse riders.

Come and try are unique mix of genuine home cooking, friendly service and sensible prices. Our Sunday lunches – just like Mum made – are particularly popular, with top quality roasts and a wide range of fresh, locally grown vegetables. Booking in advance is recommended but not essential.

Recently we have established an art gallery, which adds to the interest and ambience of our café.

In the next 12 months we intend to add further attractions to entertain and educate our customers as we celebrate the farm’s 200th anniversary in 2011. Watch this space…..
